To be honest I didn’t know what I wanted to blog about today, so I thought it would share a concept my mentor taught me. That is not to break the chain.
You see, I’ve committed myself to blogging 5 days a week now. If I think I’ll forget today and blog tomorrow, then the chain is broken and there’s a good chance I won’t blog the next day either.
So apparently this concept was used by Jerry Seinfeld
So the story goes, an aspiring young writer asked Jerry Seinfeld what his secret to comedy success was.
Jerry Seinfeld replied that it was to get one of those large office calendars and each January to strike a large red cross for each day he wrote some good comedy material.
The purpose is to make a long chain of red crosses with no breaks.
The theory being, that it keeps the creative juices running, disables writer’s block, puts fear into your that you might break the chain, and gets you conditioned to sitting down each day and producing content. And of course the jokes get better each day.
Body building is similar. If you want a super ripped body you have to go to the gym. Maybe not daily, but 3 or 4 times a week. If you only went once a week it might take 2 years to get that body instead of 6 months.
It might take you 4 years to get an income producing blog and not 1..
Get my drift?
John Chow is one of the top internet marketers who earns 7 figures ever year from blogging. He puts his success down to writing every day, sometimes twice……and his first language isn’t even English!!
He attracts 250,000 readers per day.
So I’ve decided to model John Chow and ramp up my blogging. I’m not at the stage of daily yet, but heading that way soon.
